My favorite college experience happened annually – Every year, the ladies of DST would host a toy drive and gift-wrapping party to give children from low socioeconomic communities, or less privileged families, a Christmas they weren’t expecting and will never forget. I’ve always had a passion for community outreach and improving the place I’m in, so being able to assist in putting smiles on the faces of children and parents was always an enjoyable experience.

Students should choose Dillard University because it’s where a great education meets a greater experience. Dillard University offers top-ranked programs in multiple areas of study, newly built/renovated buildings, numerous organizations and ways to stay involved, a long and rich history of success and academic excellence, and it sits in a city recognized as one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world for food, music, and fun! Dillard University is a home away from home.

Fair Dillard is an institution that promotes the cultivation of self. Whenever on a new journey in life, you are faced with  new challenges and learning experiences. At Dillard, we pride ourselves on fostering an environment that is welcoming of all people and assists one develop their sense of self. It is to be reaffirmed that everyone is purposeful. In order for change to be effectuated, one's purpose must extend beyond limitation. Dillard allows you to tap into your greatest strengths so that your change is not only felt on campus, but surpasses the gates that remind us that the legacy of the "gleaming white and spacious green" lives on forever.

My favorite memory as an alumnus of Dillard University was revitalizing our collegiate branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Prior to my presidency, the historic chapter had been dormant. Through a passion and commitment to achieve equity and equality, the student body was eager to fight for what is just. We hosted voter registration drives, facilitated instrumental panel discussions, and revivified the resilience one needs in order to persist beyond resistance.

I have so many favorite moments from my experience as a Dillard student, that it's almost impossible to choose just one. However meeting friends and professors that taught me the meaning of accountability for my own success is an experience that has proven to be invaluable.

You should choose Dillard because there is no place in the world like it! Excellent academic programs, a campus experience customized by the students and great opportunities for internships, graduate programs and employment post graduation are just a few things that you should consider.

I chose Dillard sight unseen. I always knew that I wanted to attend an HBCU. Dillard was at the top of my list. A small University with a prestigious reputation it was an easy decision for me. Dillard is an amazing institution that is woven into the fabric of the New Orleans community. Everyone has a story to share about Fair Dillard. That is what makes the experience so special.

My favorite memory at Dillard would have to be my freshman move in day. I had never been to New Orleans, and I all knew about Dillard was from online google searches. When I pulled up to campus it was raining, I had no idea where I was going but I somehow felt at home.

Prospective students should choose Dillard because the University is historical, strong, and resilient. If you are looking for an institution with excellent academics, and one that is constantly looking for ways to reinvent itself, then you too should choose Dillard.
