Description

Public Health Communications and Informatics will examine the roles that health communication and health informatics plays in public health and their planned use to accomplish public health goals. Students will learn basic knowledge of health information systems, improved methods of care, analytics, and policy related to this area. Students will take a broad look into the steps of health communications models and how to apply their knowledge to target audiences' level of readiness for health behavior change. Students will learn how information is stored, retained, and retrieved in accordance with ethical, legal and voluntary rules, regulations and standards. Additionally, students will also learn about the electronic health record, human resource supervision, and the responibilities of healthcare professionals with regard to patient information.
